How to choose a good company without getting burned in the process.
Have you been overwhelmed wondering how to choose a good company to affiliate with, without getting burned or ripped off in the process?
When it comes to Affiliate marketing how many times have you seen this very same question as the title of this post?
Why do people keep asking ” Can you really make money with Affiliate marketing?” I guess in part because people really do ask that question and that’s O.K but I have a big problem with how some people who will try to say to you “…you can make money and never have to work at a job again”! My immediate reaction is – Talk to the hand and go sell your hype somewhere else!
Downline Building: Please don’t join my team unless you’re prepared to work and prove you’re serious!
A challenge that most professional online network marketers, both in the MLM industry and in affiliate marketing, have to deal with is deadwood in their downlines. This makes it very important for the pros to be picky about who they accept into their downlines. Always ask for the referral whenever you make a sale!
Let’s face it. No matter what anybody tells you, selling can easily be hard work, whether you are doing affiliate marketing on the internet, or network marketing, or selling cool drums from Africa by the side of the road.

Some of the old door-to-door sales strategies are good ideas to add to your affiliate marketing strategies arsenal!
I remember joining an affiliate program because of all the hype of everyone else saying “this is so easy” and while it sounded good, I never saw one owner and I didn’t check anything out, because I didn’t know what to look for! I had questions, no one could answer them, but the hype sure sounded good! Sure enough, with no resources to promote this wonderful product, I never did find out what the so called product was and spending money to buy leads etc. and even spending money to pay these “owners” for upgrades, they disappeared, never to be seen again! This is my sob story and just one of the examples of how NOT to be an affiliate marketer!
The first thing to know is that being an affiliate marketer doesn’t really mean that you are just small part of somebody Else’s business. If you approach affiliate marketing from this point of view, you will never be successful and that is my strongest belief based on watching others fail and from my own experience. To me being an affiliate marketer means to sell somebody Else’s product or service, yet you consider it as your own business.
I’m sure this won’t be waste of time, just make sure that you read all the associated articles, otherwise consider yourself as walking the rope and stopping somewhere in the middle. Not only that you won’t be able to recover time you have spent so far but your time and money investment will be dragging you down and you will need to walk your rope back to the point where you have started in order to be able to continue what you always used to do.
Here are the steps that I used to build my business:
